Lolita Fashion

Recently I am watching "Kaichou wa Maid sama", its a japanese manga / anime which focuses on a shojo's life call Ayuzawa Misaki. She as the first female president of the student coucil in Seika High School (all boy high school previously) is working at Maid Latte to earn some income due to some financial difficulties in her family. In Maid Latte, all the waitress there are wearing Maiden dress and it seems much likely to be consider as a lolita fashion as well.

So what exactly is lolita fashion? Some people would think that it is cute and sweet ; dollish and scary etc.

There are many different categories of lolita fashion and this fashion is actually influenced by the Victorian clothing during the Rococo period. However it has now become a fashion which is very popular among the shojo in Japan. The transformation of old time Victorian clothing into many different new designs actually attracted a lot of teenage girls in our current society. Lolita fashion could also be seen in many Japanese shojo manga such as "Kaichou wa Maid sama", "Princess Princess" etc.
